The kids are back to school and football is kicking off! You can almost start to hear the crunching of fall leaves and smell of bonfires in the air.

Listed below are all the events in Athens, Texas happening in September. While you are in town, check out the Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center, The East Texas Arboretum, Rocky Ridge Drive-Thru Safari, Downtown Shops, New York Texas Zipline Adventures, and all five wineries around town.

4&5: Fire It Up Productions will be at the Henderson County Regional Fair Park.

7: Henderson County 4-H Open House at The Texan from 6-7:30p.

10: Athens Hornets Football vs Fairfield at Bruce Field. Kickoff at 7:30p.

11: TVCC Cardinal Football vs Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College at Bruce Field. Kickoff at 11a.

11: 211 Gallery Art Show “Eye of The Beholder” from 10a – 6p with reception from 5-7p.

11&12: Texas Palomino Exhibitors Association Fall Classic at 8a.

16-18: Henderson County Performing Arts Center present Little Shop of Horrors at 7pm.
